Compensation Philosophy

Guthrie County Hospital is committed to compensation practices that are fair, competitive, and aligned with our mission to provide personalized quality healthcare. We believe our employees are essential to serving patients and communities, and we work to attract, retain, and reward talented people who share our values of community, compassion, quality, and integrity.

Our approach to compensation is guided by these principles:

  • Fair and market-informed: We monitor our labor market and make market adjustments as appropriate to remain competitive and support workforce stability.
  • Performance-based growth: We recognize contributions through merit increases, rewarding strong performance, reliability, and professional growth.
  • Equity and consistency: We strive for internal equity by considering role responsibilities, required skills, experience, licensure/certifications, and performance.
  • Recognition for schedule demands: Where applicable, we provide shift differentials to recognize non-traditional schedules and staffing needs.
  • Total rewards: Compensation includes more than base pay. We offer a total rewards package that may include benefits, paid time off, retirement options, and other resources designed to support employees at work and in life.

How Pay is Determined

Compensation at Guthrie County Hospital is based on the requirements and responsibilities of each position, as well as an individual’s relevant experience, education, licensure/certifications, and skills demonstrated. We also consider internal equity across similar roles and review market data to help ensure our pay remains competitive. Ongoing pay growth may occur through merit increases and market adjustments when appropriate, and shift differentials may apply to eligible positions based on scheduled hours and staffing needs.
